Editor's review
A tool to maintain a history of visited websites on Internet Explorer.
Pros: The Advanced IE History Bar extends the capabilities of a standard IE History function. But whereas an IE History is hard to use unless you have a careful organizing strategy, Advanced IE History Bar makes it much easier. There are several ways to sort through the currently stored History – by date visited, the name of a link, the title of a page, how many times you visited a page and more. The most powerful feature is that you can do a search on the stored pages – for example you may remember a particular term such as “Batman” and you can use that to find the article/webpage you were looking for, which might have been a particular review. So in this way even with pages you have visited a long time back you don’t have an extremely difficult time to figure out which webpage it was. The list format comes with checkboxes next to each and every entry; it also lists the number of times you visited a given page (hits). For privacy purposes you may want to delete certain specific webpage visitation history, this you can do simply by checking the box and then selecting “delete” from a drop-down menu.
Cons: Although giving great powers it does not feature anything to customize what to store in History. This would have been really useful – so that instead of going in and deleting, you would not store the given webpage’s or website’s visit. Most users may not want the functions because searching on the Web is not a difficult task. The main utility is for people concerned a lot about their privacy.
Overall: 4 stars. Useful, but for users with specific needs.
